Job Description

Position Summary

The Junior UX Designer collaborates closely with fellow team members as well as across teams, involved in every step of the design process, researching users to understand needs, develop user personas and customer journey maps, create low-fidelity wireframes, test design solutions, and synthesize key findings to be clearly and effectively presented and applied to rapid reiterations. This role understands lean UX methodologies; and supports a continually evolving design system and standardized UX process across Offerpad.  

Essential Functions

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers, stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Design based on user-centered principles and design thinking methodology
  • Create user personas, journey maps, and other standard UX deliverables through research and data
  • Illustrate ideas using storyboards, process flows, sitemaps, customer journey maps, and personas
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and product management to create layouts and wireframes to define and enhance the digital experience for users
  • Conceptualize and participate in standard UX activities such as user research, wireframing, creating low-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes, and maintain design system
  • Conduct usability testing and synthesize findings
  • Present wireframes and usability findings to stakeholders
  • Offer guidance and recommendations to the digital team and stakeholders around website layout, app design, and user-centered design principles
  • Participate in quality assurance design reviews as needed.

Experience and Skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years in a user experience design role for desktop, website, and mobile applications
  • Online portfolio of work showcasing UX projects, wireframes, use-case studies, research, and user testing
  • Proficiency with a variety of design tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, Invision or equivalent
  • Experience performing both qualitative/quantitative usability studies
  • Ability to critically review, summarize, and report usability issues and offer recommendations
  • Strong understanding of mobile-first and responsive design standards
  • Integrity, maturity, high energy, and emotional intelligence
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Obsessive curiosity about how users interact with digital experiences
  • Strong work ethic with initiative to manage/organize workload and complete tasks by deadline
  • A clear understanding of UX & UI design principles and design thinking methodology
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail, sound judgment and swift decision-making skills
  • Have an open mindset to receiving feedback and constructive criticism in addition to providing it
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment and adapt to rapidly changing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-computer Interaction, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Visual Design, Web Design or similar
  • Previous experience working in design sprints or in an Agile environment
  • Experience building out and designing UI pattern libraries and design systems is a plus
  • Basic understanding of front-end coding (HTML5/CSS3)
  • Experience designing high-fidelity, pixel-perfect UI mockups and generating production-ready assets is a huge plus
  • Knowledge in accessibility design
  • Previous real estate experience a plus
